Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been pushed back until 2023

The next Miles Morales film will be released later than intended

Miles Morales, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-heart Verse’s and soul, will return a little later than expected. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to Spider-Verse, has been postponed and will now be published on June 2, 2023. The film was supposed to be released in October of this year. The announcement was made via an update to Sony Pictures’ theatrical release calendar.

This is the second time the film has been postponed. A visual teaser released in November 2019 revealed an April 2022 release date. This was then put out to October 2022.

Along with the date change, Sony announced that the film has been retitled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, removing the word “Part One” from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). Sony has not officially altered the release date of the now-untitled third Spider-Verse film from March 29, 2024 to a later date.

After the events of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales’ journey will be continued in Across the Spider-Verse. The Spider-Verse films take place in an universe full of different worlds, each with its own Spider-Man. In a December 2021 teaser, Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) were seen starting on another far-flung interdimensional adventure, which was interrupted by Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, who was voiced by Oscar Isaac in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
