Popular Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade dies at 23

Last year, Technoblade made public his struggle with cancer.

One of Minecraft’s most well-known characters, YouTube broadcaster Technoblade, has died after a battle with cancer. The 23-year-death old’s was announced in a video titled “so long geeks” on Thursday.

Technoblade, whose true name was only known as Alex, left a parting message for his viewers, which was read out by his father in the video. “Thank you everybody for your support throughout the years,” he stated in the statement. “If I had another hundred lives, I believe I would choose to be Technoblade every time since those were the happiest years of my life.”

His father added his own comments to show how much they meant to his son. Technoblade’s retail store will stay open and maintained by his family, with a percentage of the proceeds going to curesarcoma.org, a cancer-fighting organization. Sarcoma is a kind of cancer that is extremely rare in adults but accounts for around 20% of all juvenile malignancies.

The family of Technoblade also issued a statement at the end of the video.

In a video titled “where I’ve been,” Technoblade informed his YouTube viewers that he will be diagnosed with stage four cancer in August 2021. He addressed his position and his grim prognosis in the video, but with the trademark cheerfulness and comedy for which he was renowned in Minecraft broadcasting.

Technoblade was most known for his YouTube work, but he also broadcast and recorded stuff on the Hypixel server and created content on the famous Dream SMP server. While his material featured all Minecraft had to offer, he was likely most known for his skill in the game’s PvP. He frequently played with other Minecraft personalities, such Wilbur Soot and TommyInnit, who both paid respect to him on Twitter.

Many other streaming personalities, including some of the greatest names in gaming, paid respect to Technoblade. On Twitter, streamers such as Ludwig, Pokimane, and JSchlatt expressed their condolences, pain, and appreciation.

Both the Hypixel and Dream SMP servers paid respect to Technoblade and expressed thanks for his contributions to their communities.
