Genshin Impact ‘A Misplaced Conch’ world quest walkthrough

Bring the four Fatui back together and finish their narrative.

The Golden Apple Archipelago Fatui tale concludes in the global quest “A Misplaced Conch.” To accomplish the mission, you must collect three specified conch shells and deposit them on the centermost island.

Our walkthrough for “A Misplaced Conch” describes how to begin the global quest and where to collect the three conch shells.

To begin this quest, you must first finish the event tale quest “Like Rhyme and Song, the Summer Reverie.” You must also finish the global quests “The Discarded Insignia” and “The Misplaced Photo.” After finishing the two missions, the “A Misplaced Conch” quest will be activated immediately.

A MISPLACED CONCH WORLD QUEST LOCATION

After completing the previous Fatui objectives, proceed to the center island and speak with the multitude of Fatui agents to complete the quest. If you’ve already gathered the three conch shells (which you should have if you’ve gone conch-hunting as they’ve been added), arrange them in the sequence listed below.

A cinematic will play once you deposit the shells, and the objective will be completed.

If you haven’t yet gathered the conches, their locations are mentioned below.

MISPLACED CONCH 1 LOCATION (MINACIOUS ISLE)

This conch is at the summit of the mountain, and collecting it will trigger a cutscene. To ascend the mountain, scale the roots and ruins within the hallowed-out mountain.

MISPLACED CONCH 2 LOCATION (BROKEN ISLE)

This conch is only available after finishing the Xinyan portion of the event, “Blazin’ Trails,” and it’s sealed behind a riddle involving fire pillars on Broken Isle.

The cavern containing the shell is only accessible when the island is configured with the shorter western mountain. When you pick it up, a cutscene will play.

MISPLACED CONCH 3 LOCATION (TWINNING ISLE)

After you’ve cleared Fischl’s realm, speak with the three stone birds around the well, then drop three pebbles (or ores) into the well to raise the Imaging Conch and the water.

Because Genshin’s aiming method is a little sloppy, it may take some fiddling to get all three birds to communicate as well as the prompt to add stones. To assist with this, rotate your character around the well.
